Synopsis:
Jonathan Usher is a man on the edge. Once the powerful magnate of a Fortune 500 company, he now spends his life in isolation; a social recluse on the brink of insanity. This behavior is particularly disturbing to Lydia, Jonathan’s wife. Forced by her husband to abandon the glitz and glamour of the New York social scene, she finds herself growing old and weary in the creepy confines of Jonathan’s childhood home.
When Jonathan suspects her discomfort has turned to malice, he enlists the help of Devin Bayliss, an old friend who agrees to stay with Jonathan and “observe” the situation. Jonathan believes that Lydia is attempting to drive him insane in an effort to steal his fortune, and urges Devin to either confirm or dispel this suspicion. However, he soon believes Lydia isn’t the only one in the house not worthy of his trust.
Forced to question his own sanity and the loyalty of those closest to him, Jonathan falls deeper and deeper into a reckless game of cat and mouse. But is Lydia truly to blame, or is paranoia Jonathan’s only enemy?
Nevermore is a riveting journey through madness that will keep its audience guessing all the way to a shocking, unforgettable conclusion. Combining elements of Gaslight and Edgar Allen Poe, the film is an homage to the classic suspense of old Hollywood; a stylistic story of greed and betrayal as told through the eyes of a paranoid recluse.
